Yas Island Abu Dhabi Earned 34 awards, Kudos in 2018
Finishing off a year of outstanding achievement, Yas Island Abu Dhabi has sealed its place as a world-class place, picking up 34 local, regional and international awards and accolades. It was able to bring home these awards because of its immensely popular attractions, as well as through infrastructure projects and advancements.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, stated as the effort to convert Yas Island into one of the top global destinations, continues, the UAE is proud to be acknowledged for excellence all over the world. The long list of local and international awards and recognitions that has been offered to the attractions of Yas Island during 2018, includes the recently inaugurated Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, is a testimony to Yas Island’s fruitful journey in 2018 and the ongoing endeavors to develop, offering new experiences and attractions and welcoming more visitors.
The island resumes renewing its place as a haven of choice for entertainment and leisure seekers, and the awards won in 2018 are a proof to many facet of the destination experience that strongly reverberated with visitors from the UAE and around the world.
Yas Waterworld, the famous Emirati-themed water park was chosen as the ‘Middle East’s Leading Water Park 2018’ and later the ‘World’s Leading Water park 2018’. The water park, which has proven to be a visitor favorite every time, also secured a place in Trip Advisor’s ‘Hall of Fame’ this year after its fifth consecutive Certificate of Excellence.
The world’s fastest roller coaster, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi was chosen the ‘Middle East’s Leading Theme Park 2018’ for the second year consecutively at the World Travel Awards.
The newly inaugurated Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi was enlisted amongst the ‘100 World’s Greatest Places’ in 2018 by Time Magazine within less than six months of operation.
The Yas Marina Circuit was praised as one of the most highly advanced circuits in the world, It was applauded by The Sports Travel Awards 2018 and was given a gold award for offering ‘Best Live Experience at a Professional Sports Event’, and ‘Best Amateur Sport Event of the Year’ for its signature triathlon race TriYAS.
Yas Arena is going to open an 18,000-seat indoor entertainment venue soon. It earned the ‘Sustainable Building Design of the Year’ from the World Green Building Council’s MENA Green Building Awards.
