UAE Launches New Ministry of Possibilities

On Tuesday, the UAE started the first-ever virtual ‘Ministry of Possibilities’, which would be operating without ministers and will stress on building new government systems. It has been designed for the future.

The ministry was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai’s Ruler.

H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to Twitter in making the announcement. He added that the Ministry of Possibilities is a new form of work system which falls within the UAE government. It would be stressing on crucial national issues. He also issued decrees to start work on the first phase of a number of national programmes in the form of four departments. It would consist of the departments of Anticipatory services, Behavioral rewards, UAE talent and government procurement.

H.H Sheikh Mohammed stated that the Ministry of Possibilities will start its work on many projects, such as proactive services to the public, simplify government purchases and also reduce the time from 60 days to 6 minutes. The ministry will also be assigned to designing specialized systems to unearth talents present within every child in the UAE. He added that the word impossible doesn’t exist in their dictionary and won’t be a part of it in future.

The ministry would function without a minister. Rather, it would be managed by the Cabinet members, organize government systems and boost pro-active thinking. The ministry’s vision is based on re-conceptualizing the government’s model of work by laying down a platform for an important change in the government work and come up with a solution to deal with difficult challenges. The ministry’s responsibilities consist of the development of preventive fundamental solutions to deal with certain national issues within a specific time schedule.
