His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Dubai’s Ruler, has officially accepted a package of future projects to be unfolded by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The projects, oriented towards intensifying the happiness of the residents, which would include a Sky Garden, promenades and bicycle lanes at Sheikh Zayed Road, Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah Beach.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammad even signed a road and public transport projects as well as a five-year plan for building internal roads in residential districts. The five-year plan would be from 2019-2023. He also studied the advancement of road projects at Tripoli, Mushrif Park, Khawaneej, and also the improvements made to the Dubai-Al Ain Road, and also to the roads leading to the International City.
His Highness accepted a series of ‘Happiness Projects’ during his recent visit to the RTA. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, informed His Highness on the Sky Garden Project, a new footbridge that would measure 380 meters in length and 60 meters in height and stretch over an area of 3,422 square meters. Sky Garden pledges to be a new tourist destination for residents and visitors.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed details of the Sheikh Zayed Road promenade located between Dubai World Trade Centre and Financial Centre Metro Stations. He also examined the ‘Sunset Promenade’ project, a new beachfront area spanning 80,000 square meters connected to Jumeirah Beach Walk focused on promoting family entertainment. The Dubai Ruler was also informed about the ‘Skypods’ project, a suspended transit system that would link vital spots like the Dubai Financial Centre and the Downtown with the Business Bay.
