Sheikh Mohamed Welcomes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

On 12th January, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces, greeted the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi. Mike Pompeo is presently touring the UAE as a part of a regional tour.

Sheikh Mohamed received the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and later on explored with him various ways to improve ties of friendship and assistance between the UAE and the United States. They also discussed on the matters of mutual interest.

The meeting, which was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. During the talks, both sides also considered regional and international advancements and shared views on the matter. The meeting also included issues like the bilateral collaboration to reinforce regional security and stability.

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Courta, and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, EAA was also present for the meeting.

From the US end, it was attended by David M. Satterfield, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Steven C. Bondy, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in the UAE apart from a number of senior officials.
