Pope Francis to Land in UAE to Be a Part of the Year of Tolerance

Pope Francis the leader of world’s Catholics will land on the United Arabs Emirates on the 3rd of February, 2019. This will be the first time that a leader from the Catholic Church will be visiting the Arabian Gulf. This shall be a moment of pride for both the nations and the world. Such an event is likely to light up the internal faith of the citizens too.

UAE is celebrating the year 2019 as the Year of Tolerance and religious issues and indifferences should play a very important and vital role in such a movement. On the 3rd of February Pope Francis will depart from the Rome airport for Abu Dhabi. He will be received with a welcome ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Presidential airport terminus and meet Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Assistant Supreme Commander of Armed Forces.

After the welcome ceremony there will be private meeting with the Muslim council of Elders at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque followed by an interreligious meeting and discussion at the founder’s memorial in Abu Dhabi. The last day of his visit would begin with a private visit at the St Joseph’s Cathedral. Pope Francis will also celebrate a holy mass at Zayed Sports City Stadium. This will end by a closing ceremony followed by his departure for Rome.

There is also a special them and logo designed for this visit to UAE. The theme and the logo is mainly based on a combination of inter religious ideas, peace and other aspects that display the value and culture of UAE. The theme has been named officially as “Make me a channel of your peace”. The logo has a dove with an olive branch and  two symbols of peace  with a wing of the UAE flag.
