Smart Dubai, in association with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), has extended the offering on its bellwether UAE PASS, with added services from new government organizations now unified into the national digital identity platform.
Kicked off late last year, the UAE PASS scheme intends to cater the first national-level digital identity service to all UAE citizens, residents, and visitors. The application permits users to approach services of federal and local governments, as well as private companies, by making use of a single smart application, in addition to allowing digital signatures through mobile devices.
Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai, affirmed that the UAEPASS scheme is a crucial pillar of the Dubai and UAE Governments’ digital transformation plan, as well as the Dubai Paperless Strategy. The project stands to bolster government assistance at the federal level, constructing an integrated system of government and private-sector services that are able to meet the requirements of the communities and the cities of the future.

In the meantime, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the TRA, praised the association between the Authority and Smart Dubai. He stated that the vision of the wise leaders is that digital transformation is an all-inclusive national project, not restricted to the federal or local government, but one that recognizes the customer as the objective and the purpose.
UAE PASS permits customers to access government and private-sector services by instantly signing in through secure mobile based authentication on the UAE Pass app. This, in turn, forms another step forward towards enforcing the concept of comprehensive government, promoting connectivity and integration of databases and government systems.
The service is presently utilized in under the ‘Start your Business’ service that customers can use to get a business license within 15 minutes. More government services are scheduled to be unified to the platform in the future, where users can make use of the digital signature feature.
