Mohammed bin Rashid, Mohamed bin Zayed Hold Extensive Discussions with Vicar of Christ
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have explored with His Holiness Pope Francis in details over matters like the friendly relation that is shared between the UAE and the Vatican as well as many other topics of mutual interests.
The leaders also studied ways to further broaden cooperation so as to advocate forbearance, conversation and harmony across the world.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan greeted Pope Francis, and passed on to him the greetings as well as best wishes of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Pope Francis also stated that he was happy to have been invited by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to be a part of the Human Fraternity Meeting in what he described as the land of peace, coexistence and security. He also stressed on the role of the late Sheikh Zayed in assisting to make the UAE a nation that respects other civilizations, cultures and religions.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides urged for bolstering cooperation between different regional and international organizations in order to devise initiatives and visions that encourage successful and positive dialogue among various cultures and that highlight the significance of respecting beliefs of others’ and advocating forbearance and peace.
