Mohammed bin Rashid Goes through Emirati Innovations at WGS
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai observed some novel works that was presented by Brand Dubai, a branch of the Dubai Government Media Office, at the 7th World Government Summit (WGS).
The three day WGS summit which kicked-off from 10th February ended on 12th February. The summit was attended by delegates from over 140 nations.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid examined an artistic piece, that was titled, “Pending Judgment,” which was designed by the young Emirati artist, Shamma Al Ameri, in order to stress on tolerance, which is a key values of the Emirati community and was embraced by the nation, and headed by the wise leaders of the country, who annouced 2019 as the Year of Tolerance.
The piece is a creation with a mechanical movement that changes the place of the letter “K” in the Arabic word “Tafkir”, which means thinking to “Takfir”, which denotes excommunication. It exemplifies the thin line between tolerance and self-restraint and violence and zealotry.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed conveyed his acknowledgement and recognition for the avant-garde thinking of Emirati citizens, especially their ideas that would positively impact the community and advocate peace, forbearance, restraint and openness.
