Mohamed bin Zayed Welcomes Higher Committee and Special Olympics Organizers
On 25th March, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, welcomed the Higher Committee and the organizers of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.
While receiving the delegates at the Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stated that the endeavor of the event’s Higher Committee, organizers, local and international volunteers, partners and supporters characterized the UAE’s civility and its prominence in organizing and hosting such international events, which matches the highest international standards.
He thanked everyone who helped in accomplishing the goals of the Olympics and conveying the UAE’s humanitarian message to the world about the significance of unity with people of determination and authorizing them in their communities, which will allow them to take part and be active.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed added that the success of the UAE’s hosting of the Special Olympics crowns its efforts to entitle people of determination, amalgamate them into the community, and start their overall role in the national job market, as they are partners in achieving the nation’s development and progress while claiming that supporting people of determination has become part of the nation’s strategic plans.
The Higher Committee, organizers and sponsors of the Special Olympics appreciated the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed and other officials, which assured the event’s success while claiming that the UAE’s leadership backed the event.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of Presidential Protocols at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, stated that Sheikh Mohamed’s monitoring, directives, direct participation and support certified the success of the global event and displayed the UAE’s civilized image, as well as its establishing endeavors to accredit people of determination and underscore their capacity and their active and positive role in their communities.
Al Junaibi pointed that the work of the committee offered a platform for excellent and aspiring young leaders, who were approved from the UAE government, Etihad Airways, Mubadala and other organizations.
7,500 athletes took part in Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 and contended in 24 sports, in unanimity with people of determination. The Special Olympics, which is the largest humanitarian and sporting event in the world, was hosted by the nation from 14th to 21st March.
