Zaccheroni’s team knew that they had to uplift their level of play in order to secure the win and keep alive the pace of staying alive in the tournament. The UAE team was positive and achieved a milestone in the form of a goal for advancing in the tournament.
The home side started on a brighter note till the extra period. The referee did not hesitate to point out when Mabkhout had been challenged by Bekzhan Sagyanbaev, this naturally lead Khalil to put away the penalty.
