AED11 billion Allocated For the Low-Income Groups
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai confirmed that meeting the needs of the people and society at large particularly in the sectors of social services and social welfare is very important for the stability and prosperity of the people and the society.
His Highness said the most basic principle of the strategies and the policies of the government is to pay attention to the needs of the society and its people. To this, Sheikh Mohammad added in the coming days, the government will set its focus on the low-income groups.
Sheikh Mohammad said the government will always set its priority on the people. He has also reviewed the report of the Ministry of Community Development and has asked the organization to conduct and develop the field surveys which will help in framing the long-term plans and also propose an immediate solution to the various problems of the society.
A Cabinet meeting was attended by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi where Sheikh Mohammed was also present. On the radio, the issue of the low-income group families was raised by Ali Al Mazrouei. Ali Al Mazrouei was appointed as the Social Researcher at the Ministry of Community Development who also attended the meeting. The Cabinet had approved AED11 billion of assistance to the lower income group families which would be spent in the next 3 years. AED3.88 billion will be spent for the elderly, AED1.55 will be spent for those who do not have access to financial and health facilities, AED1.7 billion for “people of determination”. AED183.9 million will be spent for the families of prisoners and other categories.
