Abu Dhabi’s Mother of the Nation Festival Is Going to Come Back In March

Abu Dhabi’s fourth Mother of the Nation Festival will be clashing this year with the Special Olympics World Games.

In order to mark the event, there would be a new Special Olympics World Games zone and also Cirque du Soleil’s first appearance in the capital.

The festival would run from March 12 to 23, this year. The annual Mother of the Nation Festival would be paying homage to the  legacy of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who is the widow of Sheikh Zayed, presides the General Women’s Union and the president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

During the same time, i.e. from 14th March to 21st March, the Special Olympics World Games would be hosted in the Emirate. The festival would also emphasize the Year of Tolerance and visitors will be able to enjoy various performances, take part in workshops and various activities.

Abu Dhabi’s Corniche will be hosting musical performances, interactive workshops, art exhibition, a gaming championship and a happiness zone.

Saif Ghobash, working as the undersecretary at Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, stated that this arrangement incorporates the pillars of the Year of Tolerance along with the values of the Mother of the Nation, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, namely in applauding people of resolve by furnishing them with an all-inclusive environment.

Cirque Du Soleil will be holding a show named as Bazzar, where acrobats, musicians, and dancers will pay respect to the group’s heritage. The show is going to be held from 6th to 16th March on Yas Island.

Prices of tickets for the festival are yet to be disclosed, but for Bazzar the ticket price would be between Dh195 and Dh1,495. The tickets would be available online.
