Abu Dhabi’s 47 Government Services Are Simply A Few Clicks Reach

Emiratis and expatriates in Abu Dhabi can take advantage of 47 social support services proffered by 12 government organizations through an online platform called ‘Tamm’.

The new ‘Social Services’ scheme, which is the brainchild of the Department of Community Development (DCD) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, will alleviate residents of the necessity to visit various government organizations. Top government officials have stated that the residents can approach services through www.tamm.abudhabi.

Services are divided into distinct categories – community, education, family, housing, health, finance, and people of determination. Emiratis and residents can take a look into their eligibility and apply for services.

Emiratis can request loans for purchase, construction and maintenance of homes, financial support of Khalifa Fund for a new or existing business, assistance for treatment abroad, marriage grant, scholarships, family counseling, health insurance policies, request for social help and exclusion from loan repayments etc.

Welfare-related services consist of applying for identity cards for people of determination to profit from the discounts, exemptions and facilities, and looking for job opportunities for them. Pleading can be made for specialized training programmes to handle people of determination.

Emigrants can apply for selected services. Expats looking for care for those with special needs can apply for Aounak Health Card, family counseling, People of Determination ID, and enrolment in social training course among few other health-related services.Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, member of the Executive Council and chairman of the DCD, stated that the goal of such a drive is to augment the quality of people’s life including senior citizens and people of determination.

Dr Rauda Al Saadi, director-general of the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority at Tamm Centre, Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, stated that the ‘Social Services’ journey is in accordance with Abu Dhabi Government’s vision to provide next-generation services to everyone. Mubarak Al Mansoori, project manager of the scheme at the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, stated more services would be kicked-off in a phased manner as the government looks forward to making life easier for people.
