Know About Nature Protector and First Falconer: Sheikh Zayed
The first edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, in short, ADIHEX was held in 2003 at Abu Dhabi. The exhibition was attended by the former President of UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, then. He also honored the event by visiting the exhibition. Orders were given and the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition were made into an annual event. It is held every year in the capital city of UAE. Since then, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition have expanded into the list of the largest exhibition in the world for hunting, heritage preservation, and equestrian.
This year’s edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition is completely dedicated for the celebration of the Sheikh Zayed legacy, who was the first falconer. He was also one of the most significant and celebrated naturalists of the world. From the year 1930, he had envisioned the requirements to strike the balance between falconry conservation and heritage too. Hunting and preservation of hawks and birds are also a part of the points that were envisioned by him. He was keen on seeing the environmentalists and organizations that have experience more than a decade, despite his experience of that time. He was also keen to know about commitment which could be made for making the communities’ environment-friendly for wildlife. The communities must also be trained on the regulations which are bound for the hunting practices.
Other initiatives which have been taken up by him have continued to protect in the field of environment. Sheikh Zayed ordered to organize the first World Conference on Falconry and Conservation. It was also held in the capital of UAE Abu Dhabi at the end of 1976. For the first time, the conference saw falconers from different parts of the world.
